Aeonium Zwartkop

Aeonium ‘Zwartkop’ is one of the most dramatic and sought‑after aeoniums, prized for its deep, almost black rosettes that sit atop tall, elegant stems. The rosettes open like dark, glossy flowers, shifting from burgundy to near‑black depending on the season and the amount of sun they receive. In bright light, the colour becomes especially intense, giving the plant a bold, architectural presence.

As it matures, ‘Zwartkop’ forms a branching, tree‑like structure that makes it a standout feature in pots, succulent displays, or modern garden designs. During its growing season, it may produce a tall, conical cluster of golden star‑shaped flowers — a striking contrast against its dark foliage. Despite its dramatic appearance, it remains a surprisingly easy‑care succulent when given good light and well‑draining soil.

Plants are sent bare rooted. A snazzy way of saying it will arrive with minimal or no soil or pot.

Succulents need to travel with the least moisture as possible due to potential problems, such as rotting. This means they are taken out of their pots and their roots are allowed to dry out before sending. As a result, plants may arrive looking slightly different to photos. Some maybe a little dry looking or slightly wrinkled leaves for example, remember succulents are hardy and will bounce back with a little TLC. TLC instructions will be within your order.
