Echeveria 'Comet'

Echeveria 'Comet' is a charming hybrid, likely between Echeveria setosa var. minor and Echeveria unguiculata. It forms small, rounded rosettes of fleshy, pointed leaves covered in fine, silvery hairs. The foliage ranges from soft blue-green to grey-green, with a subtle shimmer.

• Rosette size: up to 9 cm across

• Leaves: pointed, slightly arching, and finely hairy

• Colour: blue-green to grey-green with a soft, silvery sheen

• Flowers: bright red with yellow tips on tall stalks in spring/summer

This cultivar is less densely hairy than E. setosa var. minor, giving it a more open, airy appearance while still retaining that signature fuzzy texture.

• Light: Prefers bright, indirect sun to full morning sun. Protect from harsh afternoon rays to avoid leaf scorch.

• Water: Water deeply but only when the soil is completely dry. Reduce watering in winter or during humid spells. Avoid wetting the leaves to preserve the fine hairs and prevent rot.

• Soil: Needs a sharply draining mix. Use a succulent blend with added perlite, coarse sand, or scoria.

• Climate: Best in temperate to arid zones. Protect from frost and heavy rain. 

• Maintenance: Remove spent flower stalks and lower leaves as needed. Avoid touching the leaf surface to keep the fuzzy coating intact.

Succulents need to travel with the least moisture as possible due to potential problems, such as rotting. This means they are taken out of their pots and their roots are allowed to dry out before sending. As a result, plants may arrive looking slightly different to photos. Some maybe a little dry looking or slightly wrinkled leaves for example, remember succulents are hardy and will bounce back with a little TLC. TLC instructions will be within your order.
