Aeonium castello-paivae f. variegata 'Suncup' is a compact, branching succulent prized for its creamy variegation and soft pastel tones. Each rosette features fleshy leaves striped in green, yellow, and cream, with pink margins that intensify in bright light. Mature plants typically reach 20–30 cm tall and wide, forming clumps of offsets over time. In late winter to early spring, it may produce cone-shaped clusters of pale yellow flowers from the center of older rosettes.

This cultivar is ideal for containers, shaded garden beds, or indoor displays with bright light. Its delicate coloring and compact form make it a standout in mixed arrangements or as a solo feature in decorative pots.

    • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light or morning sun. Avoid harsh afternoon sun, which can scorch the leaves.

    • Watering: Water when the soil is dry. Even during summer dormancy, occasional watering may be needed if conditions are very dry.

    • Soil: Use a well-draining succulent mix. Add perlite or coarse sand to improve drainage.

    • Temperature: Not frost-tolerant. Keep above 5°C and protect from cold snaps.

    • Humidity: Low humidity is ideal. Ensure good airflow to prevent rot.

    • Growth Cycle: Actively grows in cooler months (autumn to spring). Dormant in summer.

    • Propagation: Best propagated from stem cuttings in early spring. Allow cut ends to callous before planting.

    • Flowering Note: Flowering rosettes will die back after blooming, but the plant continues growing through its offsets.

Please Note:

Plants are sent bare rooted. A snazzy way of saying it will arrive with minimal or no soil or pot.

Succulents need to travel with the least moisture as possible due to potential problems, such as rotting. This means they are taken out of their pots and their roots are allowed to dry out before sending. As a result, plants may arrive looking slightly different to photos. Some maybe a little dry looking or slightly wrinkled leaves for example, remember succulents are hardy and will bounce back with a little TLC. TLC instructions will be within your order.

Feel free to contact us if you have any concerns with your order.
