Echeveria 'Red Velvet'

Echeveria 'Red Velvet' is a unique, compact succulent from Korea. Its triangular leaves are spoon-shaped and have a beautiful red color. The leaves are thick and fleshy, with sharp tips and a layer of farina that gives them a red velvet-like appearance. Be sure to provide adequate sunlight to maintain the vibrant red color.

This Korean hybrid is well-known for showcasing its vibrant colors during winter, thanks to its ability to thrive in cold environments. But, even in ideal growing conditions, it can still exhibit stunning coloration in the summer. With a maximum height and spread of just 10 cm, it is a compact plant.

• The tubular flowers are typically orange or coral in colour, often with yellow tips, and are attractive to pollinators like bees and hummingbirds.
•  Echeveria 'Red Velvet' craves more sunlight than other Echeveria varieties although needs protection from the harsh midday sun of summer months.
• Water when soil is dry and around the plant, not into the rosette.
• Thrives in warm temperatures and is not frost-tolerant.
• Propagation can be done with leaves or stem cuttings if the plant becomes ‘leggy’ . When mature it can be propagated by any offsets produced.
• Winter dormant

Plants are sent bare rooted. A snazzy way of saying it will arrive with minimal or no soil or pot.

Succulents need to travel with the least moisture as possible due to potential problems, such as rotting. This means they are taken out of their pots and their roots are allowed to dry out before sending. As a result, plants may arrive looking slightly different to photos. Some maybe a little dry looking or slightly wrinkled leaves for example, remember succulents are hardy and will bounce back with a little TLC. TLC instructions will be within your order.
