Yes, it looks like a sempervivum!
Jovibarba and Sempervivums have the following differences:
Your Sempervivum can display different colours depending on the environment, shade, sunlight or the plants maturity. Whereas Jovibarbas will maintain a more stable hue.
Sempervivums will send out pups (new plants) from the base and are/or are usually exposed while Jovibarba produce pups from between their leaves and from the stem.
There are not as many species of Jovibarba when compared to Sempervivums.
Jovibarba heuffelii 'Inferno' is a cold-hardy, clump-forming succulent known for its fiery coloration and durable rosette structure. Native to the mountainous regions of Europe, this cultivar features thick, pointed leaves with deep red to burgundy tones that intensify in cooler weather. The rosettes grow tightly packed and symmetrical, reaching up to 12 cm wide, and slowly form dense mats over time. Unlike many succulents, Jovibarba heuffelii doesn’t produce offsets on stolons — instead, new rosettes emerge directly from the base, giving it a compact, architectural look.
Unlike many other succulents, it doesn’t spread by sending out little baby plants on runners—instead, its offsets grow directly attached to the main plant, so you have to carefully divide them to propagate. In summer, it produces dainty yellow flowers, adding a delicate touch to its sturdy personality.
It’s basically the kind of plant that’s nearly impossible to kill—perfect for forgetful waterers! Plus, it’s frost-hardy, drought-tolerant, and pet-friendly, making it a worry-free addition to your garden or pots.
Display Picture plant IS NOT for sale, it is added to showcase the beauty or growth habit of the plant.
Plants for sale are shown in a 7cm pot. The images will show the same or similar plant to the one sent to you.
Succulent colours can change due to the time of year, environment, or growing conditions.
Please Note:
Plants are sent bare rooted. A snazzy way of saying it will arrive with minimal or no soil or pot.
Succulents need to travel with the least moisture as possible due to potential problems, such as rotting. This means they are taken out of their pots and their roots are allowed to dry out before sending. As a result, plants may arrive looking slightly different to photos. Some maybe a little dry looking or slightly wrinkled leaves for example, remember succulents are hardy and will bounce back with a little TLC. TLC instructions will be within your order.
Feel free to contact us if you have any concerns with your order.
