Sempervivum calcareum 'Limelight'

Sempervivum, commonly referred to as 'Hens and Chicks' or 'Houseleeks,' are hardy plants that typically thrive without issues provided they aren't overwatered. 

With approximately 50 species and 4,000 named cultivars available, these plants require full sun exposure to fully display their diverse coloration. The leaves may range in color from green, yellow, and orange to pink, red, and brown.

The flowers are typically star-shaped, with common colors being pink or red, though some varieties may produce pale yellow blooms.

Sempervivums create dense mats of rosettes, with new offsets developing around the original rosette.

These plants are excellent for ground cover in gardens and also thrive in well-draining outdoor containers. They are not suited for indoor growth due to their requirement for direct sunlight. Sempervivums are low maintenance once they are well-established.

Among succulents, Sempervivums stand out for their exceptional frost resistance.

For potting, select a container with drainage holes that is broad but shallow, allowing the plant to spread out easily.

Succulent colours can change due to the time of year, environment, or growing conditions.

Please Note:

Plants are sent bare rooted. A snazzy way of saying it will arrive with minimal or no soil or pot.

Succulents need to travel with the least moisture as possible due to potential problems, such as rotting. This means they are taken out of their pots and their roots are allowed to dry out before sending. As a result, plants may arrive looking slightly different to photos. Some maybe a little dry looking or slightly wrinkled leaves for example, remember succulents are hardy and will bounce back with a little TLC. TLC instructions will be within your order.
